a. I liked how the first couple pages really showed a different side of Ben. They showed a side that is so uncommen. When you think of a leader u think of someone rich and powerful. Even some one who kind of a jerk. Bens a broke nice guy. he buys bread and gives it mostly away. Has no money and sleeps in a church because he has no where to stay. its just such a human version of him that was quite impressive.
I. I Also loved the quote “A man being something more generous when he has but little money than when he has plenty, perhaps through fear of being though to have but little.” like frank clarke did in his D. You see this every day. People on the street giving money to the poor and homeless when they are living pay check to pay check while rich people focus on getting richer and avoid any kind of connection with these broke people in need of help. I mean sure there are people that are rich that do support the needy but truthfuly there should be alot more.
e. I really like ben character. Hes really smart and open to developing him self. He want to become this virtuous man and he feels like it will bring him happiness. I think its cool that he want to improve him self. Being open to growth is very important.

A. Ben Franklin comes to Philidelphia from England. Philly was basically the biggest city in the colonies at this time period. This city was an urban setting with a booming economy and a thriving political system. Ben Franklin comes over to the city with nothing but the clothes on his back. I related this to a tourist who has lost his way in the middle of Times Square. All the regular city people know where they are and are quickly moving about from place to place with confidence. This tourist is stopped on a busy corner fumbling with his map, looking up at street signs with a big backpack. He must feel unwanted, and I feel like that exactly how Ben Franklin felt.
B. I feel like from this reading I learned a lot about Ben Franklin from this reading. I like him a lot. He is different and he is radical and wants change. I liked the way he organized his life. He used this chart in order to keep track of the virtues that he wanted to excersice. This showed how dedicate Ben Franklin was to his job and his life in America.
I. Evan, what a funny post. I totally thought about obsessive compulsive disorder when I thought about this . SO funny you mentioned that. I was reading it and saying to my self “woah, hes kinda going crazy with all these virtues.”
