A. You first examine the reality of Jim's capture. For awhile Huck and his companions were able to hide Jim fairly well and keep him out of trouble, Even though it was highly demoralizing because sometimes they'd have to dress him up with a sin around his neck saying that he was slave. Jim could have been saved, he could be well on his way to finding his family and living a free life. Instead he decided to stay back to help Huck. Now he is being held against his will being threaten to be sold again. Its kind of stupid because he had the opportunity to be free yet choose to have been a victim to this prejudices.
I. I agree with matts comment about tom just being foolish. Using a knife to cutt throw the ground/foundation of the house is a terrible idea. i think that Huck is just way beyond where Tom is now. he developed so much through out the book, not only lived the life of the books he read but practically making his own book. Tom is arrogant to not listen to hucks advice.
e. I think huck has surpased tom when it comes to everything! I dont like how through out the book he reflects on what tom would do or what tom would think. He better than top hands down.

John Rice
Mr. Thomas
English 11
D. Huckleberry Finn says a very significant line in towards the end of chapter 33. Huck says "Human being can be awful cruel to one another". This quote in context was very interesting because he said it as the duke and dauphin were being run out of town. THe ill feelings Huck had towards them oddly disappeared and it seemed like he forgave them for what they did. THis really shows the maturity of Huck and how much he has grown throughout the book. He is able to realize that everyone should not be in constant struggle with one another and humans should just learn to live in harmony together.
A. I believe that Huck and Tom are obviously two completely different people. They have two separate personalities and they took a very long break from one another during this journey that Huck had been on. I think even in our world today we all have people in our lives that balance us out. We become friends with people that are going to complement our positive features and minimize our bad features.
B. I agree with Emmanuel when is said that Tom is trying to just make things more complicated. It is exactly what Tom's personality is like. He treats everything as a joke and he can never take things seriously. He always feels like he needs to control things and makes situations his own little joke.
